Morning ”Me Time”

Hello Beautiful!

Do you have a morning routine to get your day started? I would love to be that mom that can get up at 5am and head to the gym to crush it! Then go back home and cook breakfast for my family all while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee before heading to school drop off and work. Yeah, that’s NOTHING like my mornings! 🙂

A typical morning for me involves hitting snooze on my alarm at least 3 times before I actually wake up. From that point it is a crazy game of dragging kids out of the bed so they can get washed up and dressed fast enough for us to make it to school drop off on time! Then I stop by Biggby or Starbucks to grab some breakfast on my way back home to start my workday.

As you can probably tell, I don’t really ease into my day. It’s kind of a world wind. But its my normal. I have some life and health goals that I would like to meet this year so I decided one day that things needed to change. I will take you along that journey another day 🙂 I recently got into digital planning and one of my goals was to have tea or coffee outside in the mornings. Since I work from home, the only time I really get out of the house is for school drop off and pick up times.

Stepping outside for a few minutes allows me to breath in fresh air, soak in the sun and just enjoy the peacefulness of the morning. I never realized how beneficial this could be to my day. It forces me to take time for myself and center myself before I step into my daily work duties. This helps me go into work with a clear mind and positive energy. I might not be able to run a mile before the sun comes up but I’m taking baby steps to create a healthy self-care routine that fits my lifestyle. It’s a little cold here in Michigan today, so I decided to enjoy my cup of tea while standing in my screen door. I still get the fresh air and the sunlight. I also got a chance to do some people watching and that’s always fun!

What are you doing to make sure you are getting in that ”me time”? Tell me in the comments!

  1. Once swim season is over (2 more weeks!) I spend time in the afternoons sitting in front of our storm door in the sun reading. Even 15 minutes in the sun feels like heaven!

    1. Hi Eve! That sounds so relaxing! Here’s to knocking out these last two weeks of the swim season. Thanks for following Busy Moms Blog Too!
